Supporting the Production of Native Content

Each year, Vision Maker Media awards over $500,000 in production contracts to independent producers and public television stations to produce programming by and about Native Americans for use by PBS stations. There are many opportunities for filmmakers to succeed. In an effort to support filmmakers, Vision Maker Media collects and provides a number of available opportunities for funding, training, jobs, internships, festival deadlines and more.

This month-long program will take place at House of Pod in Denver, Colorado for 28 contact hours of podcast instruction over four weeks.

The Data Institute is a collaboration between The Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting and ProPublica. This 2-week intensive workshop will teach you how to use data, design and code for journalism. It will run from July 22 to August 2 in New York City.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
-Projects in pre-production, production, or post-production. Distribution or engagement does not qualify.
-Well-written and well-researched proposals.

The Digital Production Assistant will assist in all aspects of video production including research, development, production, and post-production related to new digital video series for the Launchpad program.

NET, Nebraska's PBS and NPR Stations is looking for a highly skilled professional individual who researches, writes, edits, produces, and narrates a short story daily to broadcast to the listening audience.

This new national prize is designed to provide finishing funds, including outreach and marketing, for feature length American history documentaries in the tradition of Ken Burns. Appropriate submissions are rough or fine cuts of films focusing on American narratives.
