Supporting the Production of Native Content

Each year, Vision Maker Media awards over $500,000 in production contracts to independent producers and public television stations to produce programming by and about Native Americans for use by PBS stations. There are many opportunities for filmmakers to succeed. In an effort to support filmmakers, Vision Maker Media collects and provides a number of available opportunities for funding, training, jobs, internships, festival deadlines and more.

Position is a member of the Vision Maker Media (VMM) management team that plans and manages Native American multimedia, audio and video programming for presentation to the Public Broadcasting System. Position may supervise some staff and student workers.

NET, Nebraska’s PBS & NPR Stations, is seeking an experienced salesperson to represent the entire NET portfolio, including Radio, Television, and Digital Underwriting Sales (Advertising), Event Sponsorships and Local Production Partnerships.

Under limited supervision, performs installations, testing, maintenance, and preventive maintenance on various satellite transmitting and receiving equipment and systems, to include digital encoding equipment and systems; performs related work as required.

Performs independent audio acquisition and mixing. Duties include studio, single and multi-camera EFP audio acquisition, remote A-1, remote A-2, audio only field recording, sound reinforcement mixing, basic non-linear audio editing.

Position works independently to test, configure, calibrate, install, operate, update, repair and perform systems and transmitter preventative maintenance to television and radio transmitters and associated equipment.

Perform installation, preventive maintenance, and repair on NET's and PBS's C-Band and Ku-Band fixed and temporary fixed (mobile) satellite equipment and systems (transmit and/or receive). This also includes work at the NET television and radio transmission sites.

A pre-release version of Owóksape ("place of learning" in Lakota) will be available in October.
