N. Bruce Duthu, J.D.

N. Bruce Duthu, J.D., producer of DAWNLAND and FIRST LIGHT. Mr. Duthu, an internationally recognized scholar of Native American law and policy, is the Samson Occom Professor of Native American Studies at Dartmouth College. An enrolled member of the United Houma Nation of Louisiana, Duthu is the author of “Shadow Nations: Tribal Sovereignty and the Limits of Legal Pluralism” (Oxford University Press, 2013) and “American Indians and the Law” (Viking/Penguin, 2008) and co-producer of “A Way of Learning,” a documentary film on Dartmouth’s Native American Program, directed by Alanis Obomsawin.
