The Department of Radio/Television/Film at Northwestern University’s School of Communication is seeking a full-time lecturer in documentary media production. The ideal candidate will be a documentary filmmaker who has made feature or short form documentaries that have screened at noteworthy film festivals and/or been distributed (broadcast/VOD/theatrical).

Candidates should have an MFA plus college teaching experience. Preferred secondary areas of documentary specialization may include: Editing (Premiere), Cinematography, or Sound (production and/or post-production). Our program offers a range of approaches to documentaries, from traditional forms to those that utilize techniques borrowed from fiction, and/or fiction films that utilize documentary techniques. The position involves teaching MFA graduate courses in our Documentary Media program (www.docmedia.northwestern.edu) as well as undergraduate production courses in the Department.

Appointment starts September 1, 2018, for a one-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
