Director of Operations

The Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Operations with a proven track-record of success. The Carson Center is an exciting new program that creatively fuses virtual production with performative experiences across film, theatre, games, interactive and immersive media, physical computing, sonic arts, computational media, and entrepreneurship.

The Director of Operations serves as a deputy to the Founding Director and plays a mission critical role in supporting the Founding Director’s work to create a Center and program of international distinction and excellence. Supports the Founding Director in implementing the Center’s strategy to drive measurable results for enrollment goals, fundraising, internships, and job placement. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Center, budget management, Advisory Council committee meetings, project and people management, branding, marketing, communications, and advising the Director on both inward and outward-facing issues.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus seven years of project and personnel management experience. Skilled with Microsoft Office, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and detail orientation skills. Ability to take the initiative and work well independently in a fast-paced, changing environment. Outstanding judgment and a strong sense of tact and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in film, television, technology, media, or related field. Ten or more years of project and personnel management experience.
