Training Opportunity

Ohina seeks passionate, professional, and collaborative filmmakers for their lab! They hope to create a fellowship of the most talented, up-and-coming, local filmmakers and give them the opportunity to learn from some of the best working screenwriters and filmmakers today. On Saturday, September 8, select filmmakers will have an opportunity to develop screenplays and learn from ʻOhina 2018 Special Guest Dana Ledoux Miller (The Newsroom, Narcos, Blood & Oil, Designated Survivor).

Don’t just consume media, make it. Learn how to tell your own story through video, music, animation, game design and coding using high-quality equipment and software in a supportive, collaborative environment. If you live in San Francisco and are between the ages 14-17, you are eligible to join Next Gen, BAVC’s FREE after school youth program - winner of the 2017 San Francisco Magazine Best After School Program and the 2016 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards.

Tribeca Film Institute (TFI), in partnership with New Orleans Film Society, is inviting storytellers coming from the American South to apply for a new pitch opportunity during the 2018 New Orleans Film Festival. The pitch calls for original stand-alone commissions of short documentaries that explore a range of socially, politically and culturally relevant topics about the American South.
