Recently, I was honored to participate in Native Public Media's Digital Journalism and Storytelling Course. Literally, at the same time I was in Santa Fe for the Digital Journalism and Storytelling Course, I was working to order the equipment for training of Ponca youth in Oklahoma and Nebraska, so they could tell stories about the importance of home. NAPT is also proud of the role they played in funding five Native youth to participate in the 7th Annual Superfly Filmmaking Experience.

We have just started to using tumblr, but have already found some items that others should keep in mind. One of the most helpful stats for a project or a non-profit is the "People Are Taling About You." It is total number of important interactions with your page on Facebook, including Page Likes, Shares, Mentions, etc. What's even better is that the number is public, so you can compare how you are doing with other similar non-profits or projects.

In March, I was on a panel at SXSW called "Popping Your Bubble: Stories of the Digital Divide." Working with technology and culture in Indian Country, I have seen how the lack of Internet access can be a roadblock for people to share or even get information about their culture. Because of this reason, I am so passionate about doing what I can to help bridge the Digital Divide.
