Sharyn Steele

Sharyn Steele is an enrolled member of the Wisconsin Ho-Chunk Nation. She graduated from Dartmouth College with double majors in English and Film before earning an MFA from USC’s Peter Stark Producing Program where she was the first Native American to attend. She was a development executive at Gold Circle Films (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and WWE Studios (The Marine”) where she oversaw IM and television projects before becoming an independent producer. She produced Best Man Down (distributed by Magnolia Pictures) and executive produced Class Rank, (directed by Eric Stoltz and starring Bruce Dern) as well as the award-winning short, Waabooz starring Saginaw Grant. Most recently, she was the recipient of the Sundance Institute’s Time Warner Producing Fellowship. She also serves on the Executive Boards of the Native American Alumni Association at Dartmouth and The Indigenous Arts Institute.
