N. BRUCE DUTHU, J.D. (Houma) is a producer of Dawnland and First Light. Dean Duthu, an internationally recognized scholar of Native American law and policy, is the Frank J. Guarini Associate Dean of the Faculty for International Studies & Interdisciplinary Programs and the Samson Occom Professor of Native American Studies. Duthu is the author of Shadow Nations: Tribal Sovereignty and the Limits of Legal Pluralism (Oxford University Press, 2013) and American Indians and the Law (Viking/Penguin, 2008) and co-producer of A Way of Learning, a documentary film on Dartmouth's Native American Program, directed by Alanis Obomsawin.
