Michelle Schenandoah

An inspirational writer, speaker and thought leader, Michelle Schenandoah-Powless is a member of the Oneida Indian Nation Wolf Clan of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. She and her husband, Neal Powless founded Indigenous Concepts Consulting to incorporate Indigenous perspective into mainstream culture to raise a new consciousness of peace in the world. International speaker and author, she is also works with her husband on major motion film productions by lining up contacts and resources within Indian Country for film projects. She has produced, directed and wrote PSAs for United Nations NGO, Children of the Earth.

She has also worked on video line editing for Voice of the Oneida people. Schenandoah has served as an economic and governance strategist for Native American Nations across the country. She also has an extensive legal background in tax and business law. Schenandoah currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Seven Dancers Coalition, 501(c)(3), focused on ending domestic violence and sexual assault through empowerment in Native American communities. Shenandoah holds a JD and LL.M. in Taxation from New York Law School and a BA from Cornell University. She lives in the ancestral lands of her Oneida people with her husband and four children.
