Drew Nicholas

Drew Nicholas co-founded the Pittsburgh-based production company In Medias Res, for which he performs various tasks from concept to completion. In Medias Res specializes in performance pieces, short form narrative, documentary productions and produced the 2012 independent feature film I’m A Stranger Here Myself. In addition to independent producing/shooting, Drew serves as a location scout and manager in the commercial film industry - a unique position built upon community trust and engagement that most certainly informs his documentary filmmaking. Drew earned his B.A. in Cinema and Digital Arts from Point Park University and studied creative writing/poetry at Naropa University. His short films have screened at festivals throughout the country. Most recently, his short documentary “The Granada Refrain” earned an Honorable Mention Award in the Sprout Fund’s Innovative Community Film and Video Competition.
